``RM Re-Library'' reprints two to three volumes of past masterpiece volumes from ``RM LIBRARY'', which has a long history of over 270 issues.
The 10th volume in the series is the first time that two books with different themes have been combined.

However, they both share the commonalities of being individualists, minorities, and short-lived within the Japan National Railways diesel railcars, and since they also have the same book, the direction and density of the writing are highly consistent. . Included are Volume 7 of the RM Library, ``Railbus: Its Life'' and Volume 81, ``Kiha 08 and its Clan.''

The railbus refers to the later Kiha 01, 02, and 03 types, of which 49 cars were manufactured from 1954 to 1956. It was created by using bus body technology and attaching a bus engine to a singing body, with the aim of improving frequency in quiet line areas and reducing costs. There was a successful precedent in Germany and other countries, but in Japan it was short-lived and preserved due to the fact that comprehensive control was not realized, the lifespan of bus bodies was short, and problems such as backlogs occurred during rush hours. There is only one car. However, it has also been a model that has been loved by model fans for a long time.
Modified passenger cars, such as the Kiha 08, are a low-cost attempt to convert existing passenger cars into diesel cars by installing an engine in them, aimed at regions where new diesel cars cannot be manufactured in time as the transition to smokeless cars progresses rapidly. . Three to five cars of all types were created as prototypes, including dual cabs, single cabs, control auxiliary cars, and auxiliary cars, but because they were based on heavy passenger car bodies, running performance was difficult, and diesel cars Since the new product also got off the ground, mass production was not carried out, and the lifespan of the car body was shorter than that and it was retired. This was also known as a model for easy modification work by model fans.
This book contains a wealth of information on the origins of these unique diesel cars, format explanations, various materials, format photos, etc., and is the definitive document on this type of vehicle.
