RM Re-Library is a reprint of two or three volumes of the best volumes from the long history of RM LIBRARY , which already has over 280 issues. The 27th volume in the series is the first to compile three volumes (which originally consisted of an upper, middle and lower volume ), and will reprint "All About Big Cars" (by Yoshioka Shinpei) from RM Library volumes 91 , 92 and 93 .
"The big-goods car is the king of freight cars"...Freight cars are used to carry large cargo that cannot be loaded into other types of freight cars, and their appearance and structure vary depending on their purpose and use. This book starts with the same type of freight cars from the Meiji period, which is touted as the "mythical era," and gives an overview of their development in the Taisho and Showa periods. It is interesting to see the period when huge freight cars appeared one after another, like the evolution of dinosaurs. Incidentally, the actual cars have been gradually declining since the JR period, but there are still a very small number of them in use today.
Heavy-duty vehicles are classified into various types, such as low-floor, split low-floor, drop-in, split drop-in, low-floor drop-in, flat bed, and suspended types, and this book lists and explains each type within each classification.
