RM Re-Library is a reprint of two or three volumes of past masterpieces from the long history of RM LIBRARY , which has already published over 270 issues. The 16th volume of the series focuses on two famous train series that marked an era, made by a certain train manufacturer that has now changed its name. RM LibraryThis is a combined edition of RM Library Volume 98 , "Tokyu Corporation 5000 Series (by Michikazu Miyata and Yukio Moriya)" and Volume 34 , "Izukyu 100 Series: From Birth to the Last Run (by Michikazu Miyata and Yuji Sugiyama)."

Tokyu Car Corporation (now Japan Transport Works), a railway car manufacturer founded after the war, introduced a groundbreaking train that incorporated aircraft technology in 1954. This was Tokyu Corporation's first high-performance train, the 5000 series, which featured a rounded body unique to the monocoque structure and a breath of fresh air, along with its light green paint job.

About 10 years later, when the Tokyu Group opened the Izu Kyuko Line, a new line on the Izu Peninsula, the 100 series was designed and manufactured from scratch. Although it was a local train, it had comfortable interior facilities with two- door cross seats, and furthermore, it was a very dreamy train that included green cars and dining cars, and it became a key player in establishing the image of Izu Kyuko as a tourist destination in Izu.

This book provides an overview of both series written by expert authors and includes many valuable documents and photographs.
