The RM Library introduces now-defunct routes and vehicles that were once in service, along with photographs and documents from the time.
We plan to continue publishing this series on a regular basis, but we have received numerous requests to reprint or republish the back issues, of which there are over 260 volumes, as they remain sold out.
In response to such requests, We'll start with "RM Re-Library".
Not only have the volumes that were separated into two volumes at the time of the first edition, or volumes with a common theme, been combined into one book, but updated information such as color graphs have also been added.
The first commemorative release is a reprint of RM LIBRARY 35 and 36, "The Story of Kiha 07."
The Kiha 07 series is a streamlined diesel railcar that appeared as the Kiha 42000 series before the war, and was the first large vehicle in the JNR series that could run alone. This book covers the chaotic period during and after the war, the conversion to the DMH17, the renaming to the Kiha 07 series, conversion to a postal baggage car and a business car, and even the transfer to a local private railway. It is a famous vehicle that we would like to pass on to all fans as it created the foundation for the modern Japanese diesel railcar kingdom.
What is "RM Library"?
This is a very popular series of railway books that introduces now-defunct railway lines and vehicles that were once in service, along with photos and documents from the time. It is still being published at a rate of one volume per month, and volume 264 is scheduled to be published in June. The B5-sized, 48-page book is packed with photos from the time and interesting content.
