The Moha 100 series electric train was prepared by the Nanbu Railway when it opened its line between Kawasaki and Noborito in 1927. This small electric train, less than 15 meters long, was increased in number as the line was extended, eventually numbering 15 cars.
However, in 1944 (Showa 19) during the war, the Nanbu Railway was acquired by the government and became the Japanese National Railways Nanbu Line. After the war,
As larger vehicles were transferred in from other lines, the Moha 100 series were replaced and scattered across the country.
Some went to Toyama, some to Gifu and Tono, some to Chiba and Nagareyama, and some to Kumamoto, and their activities covered a wide area from Tohoku to Shikoku and Kyushu.
This book traces the birth and subsequent development of the Nambu Railway Moha 100 series, which left its mark all over the country.
