``RM Re-Library'' reprints two to three volumes of past masterpieces from ` `RM LIBRARY '', which has a long history of over 270 issues. The 14th volume in the series focuses on freight cars with certain characteristics...a unique subject born from the unique perspective of RM LIBRARY . This is a combined volume of RM Library Volumes 83 and 84 , ``Freight Cars Transporting Cars (Part 1 and Part 2)'' (edited by Issaku Watanabe).

Transporting cars is a simple word, but this book covers various types of freight cars. One is to transport new passenger cars, which are completed products, from the factory to the point of consumption or the port of shipment. The other idea is to load trucks with their cargo to make up for the driver shortage and also aim to save energy. Furthermore, there were also vehicles for transporting tourists' cars and motorcycles in combination with passenger cars. From the 1960s to the early 1990s , various ideas were tried and failed, and now all operations have ended. Why has it not become established and popularized ? This book will answer such questions.

This is a book with a slightly unique origin for RM LIBRARY , with each chapter written by an authority from the Freight Car Section of the Railway Friends Association, and that is why you can feel the high level of enthusiasm for this book. Of course, there are also many valuable photographs and materials, so please be sure to stock them on your bookshelf.
