Kumoha 12 was synonymous with old-style national trains for fans of national trains in the metropolitan area, and last appeared on the Okawa branch line of the Tsurumi Line until March 1996.
The reason this vehicle remained in service until the 1990s was because of its short body of 17m and its relationship with the platform and the sharp curves of the Okawa branch line.
The Kumoha 12, which survived until the Heisei era, is among the old national electric trains that retains the atmosphere of the Ministry of Railways' electricity-saving trains that appeared from the Taisho era to the early Showa era, and because of its length, it is called the 17m class national electric train in the hobby world. Ta.
In the 1980s, there were examples that remained as commercial vehicles in various places, and vehicles that were used as second-class vehicles on local private railways, so fans' interest never ran out until the end.
