The Toyohashi Railway Taguchi Line (22.6 km between Hon-Nagashino and Mikawa-Taguchi) is an electrified line (gauge 1,067 mm) that was completed in December 1932 (Showa 7) in the Oku-Mikawa region of eastern Aichi Prefecture under the name "Taguchi Railway". It is a sister company of the Toyokawa Railway and Horaiji Railway, which later became part of the Japanese National Railways Iida Line through wartime acquisition, and direct train service continued for many years even after both railways were nationalized.
The line was once bustling, transporting visitors to Horaiji Temple and lumber, but with the outflow of residents along the line, the spread of private cars, and a decline in forest resources, both passenger and freight traffic began to decline, and the line merged with Toyohashi Railway, which was under Meitetsu, in October 1956. However, the line continued to experience problems due to aging facilities and flood damage, and the line was converted into bus service and closed down in August 1968.
