In RM Library issue 227, we look back at the trains that ran on the Yoro Line.
The Yoro Line runs from Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, through Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, to Ibigawa Town, Ibi District, Gifu Prefecture.
This railway line opened in 1913 (Taisho 2) as the Yoro Railway, and has since seen a rapid succession of changes in the name of the operating company, including Ibigawa Electric, Yoro Electric Railway, Ise Electric Railway, Yoro Electric Railway, Sangu Express Railway, Kansai Express Railway, and Kintetsu Railway. For a long time after the war, the line was operated by Kintetsu Railway, but in 2007 (Heisei 19), operation was transferred to the newly established Yoro Railway, and the line made a new start.
