``RM Re-Library'' reprints two to three volumes of past masterpieces from ` `RM LIBRARY '', which has a long history of over 280 issues. The 20th volume in the memorable series is a complete reprint of the 50th volume commemorative issue of the RM Library, ``Memories of the Showa Era - Looking back on trains and trains of the 1950s in color'' (authored by Retsuya Mitani).

In the early 1950s , when trains were coming out of the post-war turmoil, a wave of colored railroad cars rapidly swept through, where up until then most railway cars had been plain black or brown. It was also a time when there were dramatic advances in vehicle technology, such as the appearance of high-performance electric trains.

It was a time when the world of railways underwent major changes both technologically and aesthetically, but as film was still expensive at the time, there are not many color photographic records. In this book, we present this precious color film record in an all-color version that is available only in commemorative issues at RM Library.

This book contains not only the gorgeous vehicles that are the poster child of the new era, but also many scenes of the last activities of the old greats of the Meiji and Taisho eras that could still be seen in this era.

Additionally, since this was an era when streetcars were in their final glory, we will devote a chapter to introducing records related to that area. There is no doubt that a strong sense of the times is conveyed through the clothes and cars of the people walking the streets.

This is the first all-color edition of RM Re-Library, and we would like to deliver it to everyone who misses the Showa era.
