``RM Re-Library'' reprints two to three volumes of past masterpieces from ` `RM LIBRARY '', which has a long history of over 270 issues. The 15th volume of the series focuses on electric locomotives that have the characteristics of both private railways and national railways. This is a combined volume of RM Library Volumes 3 and 4 , "Genealogy of Private Railway Acquisition Electrical Equipment (Part 1 and Part 2)" (written by Fumio Yoshikawa).

"Acquisition" here refers to the acquisition of private railway lines by the Japanese National Railways for wartime transportation and their inclusion in the network. In the metropolitan area, these include the Nambu Line and Ome Line, and in rural areas, these include the Senseki Line, Minobu Line, Oito Line, Iida Line, Hanwa Line, and Ube Line. Electric locomotives acquired for each route were given the type and number of a Japanese National Railways locomotive, and many of them were later sold to other private railways and lived a long life.

There are many locomotives with technical characteristics and a wide variety of shapes. It also has a lot to offer in terms of its strange fate. These are categorized and explained by the railway company at the time of acquisition.

The author is the late Fumio Yoshikawa, who was a leading expert on the history of private railway vehicles. It has a first-class finish, not only as a reference material but also as a reading material.
